Hi there Kathie, One suggestion which was made for last time by the Fesolais I think, but which we did not get to cover, was some sort of workshop or discussion on "when and how to tell the kids they're adopted". Also, I am personally really inter…

Thank you. Our profile is finally into CYFS this week and we have our acceptance letter from them so as of friday last week we are in the pool. The LDS one will be sent this week. It has been a hard road, it took me 7 months to get our profile in because I struggled so much with it, I knew as soon as I sent it in that it would be set in stone that we were going to be adopting and not having children ourselves and I struggled with that for months before finally getting myself together and getting it in. Silly huh!!!

This is such a great site, thank you

Hey Kathie, I just received the referee documents from CYF this afternoon. I filled them out tonight and they will be in the post back to CYF tomorrow for you. I sang your praises of course, and the only question I had trouble with was the weaknesses you and Jack have - I honestly couldn't think of anything to write! hehe... all the best with your adoption plans, my friend.

The Adoption Process - What happens, what do I need to do, how does it work?

The purpose of this website is to provide information for families who are seeking to either adopt children or to place children for adoption. If you have already been through this process then perhaps you are an old hand, but for some you may just be wanting to know how to get started. What's the process? What do I need to do? Will it cost money? How does it work?

Here is just a little information about the basics. I welcome any other perspectives as well to add to my comments or clarify anyth… Continue
