Promoting a positive view of adoption

Kia ora koutou
He mihi mahana ki a koutou katoa. Hope you are all well and have survived the first term and are coping with the year's first school holidays.
Well it's time to start planning our next conference again and I would really appreciate input from as many of you as possible. This year I'd like to see a lot more waiata, sharing of personal experiences, birth whanau respresentatives, extended whanau and stake and branch leaders.
So please put the word out to your birth families, your own extended whanau - so your children's aunties/uncles, grandparents (on their adoptive side), and to your stake and ward leaders, and any LDSFS representatives in your stakes - birth mum co-ordinators etc. As always, please also extend invitations to anyone who you know may be contemplating entering the adoption pool.
I have some beautiful sheet music that is specific to adoption experiences I'd be keen for anyone who would like to put their hand up to learn one or a couple of these songs to perform at conference. I don't have any backing tracks or vocals at this point but I will see if I can source these out.
At this point I'd be suggesting that we aim for a Saturday during the Term 3 school holidays -so potentially the 2nd or 9th of October. I'd appreciate your feedback on these dates as soon as possible so that I can book our venue. I'm proposing the Foster Road Chapel again in Temple View, but if anyone has any other preferences for a venue I'd like to hear your thoughts on that too.
I look forward to hearing your thoughts. Take care one and all ... and enjoy the school holidays.
